Patient 1
Details:
Problem: we wanted to bleach all the patient's teeth before we chose the color of the porcelain bridges
Solution: whitening was performed using 10% carbamide peroxide (Opalescence) for 7 nights before bridge preparations were started to get the right color (you can't bleach porcelain later on if you think the color is too dark, so you need to bleach first to get to your target color before you start porcelain work)
Patient 2
Details:
Problem: this 22 year old girl wanted whiter teeth prior to choosing the color of her Componeers (composite veneers)
Solution: Custom bleaching trays were worn overnight for 7 nights to get this whiter, brighter result! Her Componeers can now also be whiter (Componeers don't change color with bleach)
Patient 3
Details:
Problem: (same case as immediately before, but focusing on lower arch color change)
Solution: (same case as before but focusing on lower arch color change)
Patient 4
Details:
Problem: this nice teenager male was referred to me by an orthodontist for conservative measures to eliminate yellow and brown staining on his front teeth. He was being teased at school. Some kids are mean!
Solution: Custom tray night bleaching was used and supervised for 2 weeks to get this result! The teasing has effectively stopped!
Patient 5
Details:
Problem: this nice 30 year old female wanted to replace an old brown filling, but wanted whiter teeth before
Solution: two weeks of overnight bleaching resulted in a beautiful light base to which I will match the new filling. The old filling of course doesn't change much with bleaching.
Patient 6
Details:
Problem: this nice girl complained of yellow teeth and uneven white splotching of color in her upper front teeth.
Solution: we decided to pre-bleach the teeth before the composite veneers (to be done still). Great improvement in color! The white splotches will disappear with the composite veneers; can't wait!
