This lower right canine exhibited moderate to severe attrition paired with incisal erosion which happened to abut an old amalgam restoration. As there was no occlusal space to build the original height and shape of the cuspid, we decided to create something new, something strange, like out of American Horror Story: a cuspidbicuspid hybrid. It looks strange, but it works very well in his occlusion. His friends may ask him about a 3rd premolar, but hey, everyone is unique in some way.
