Back to back Class II restorations have more predictable contour often if completed singly. The circumferential retainer (Omnimatrix in this case) acts to stabliize the internally-placed Garrison sectional band, which has an innate curvature, and also to squeeze cervically to seal without a wedge.
Interproximal finishing is idealized first before placing a sectional matrix system in the conventional fashion to close the contact.
