This lovely patient presented exhibiting cleft lip and palate-associated missing teeth UL2 and UL3 with an old bridge and two pontics. The bridge retainer UL1 was in a state of poor repair with gross debonding and overtly failed margins. CBCT analysis exhibited the proximity of the cleft to the region obviating the possibility of implant placement/grafting.
The decision was made to split the bridge in two with two cantilever pontics, one left on UL4-UL3 pontic and the fabrication of a zirconia cantilever bridge UL1-UL2 pontic.
