An ambush is never the exception and quite predictably the rule when you remove an old PFM crown with marginal defects. You almost know what you are going to find and need to rebuild.

The Aquacare system was utilized to optimize the substrate for bonding before a series of microlayers were painted on the preparation allowing the standard 5 minutes DWT. Typically a couple of microlayers of an opaquing flowable composite is enough to drastically change the color value of the tooth, which influences what ingot you can ultimately choose (i.e. medium-trans vs. high-trans).
