This yet-to-be-completed case combined a risky “day of surgery” transsulcular ostectomy and gingival recontouring (Dual wavelength 810nm, 980nm Superpulsed diode 1.2W, Gemini, Ultradent Products) in conjunction with removal of the old crown. PFMs really are horrible – they cast a shadow onto the root making an endodontically-compromised tooth even darker than it already is. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
The provisional was fabricated from GC TempSmart and characterized using GC Optiglaze Color: namely: Pink-Orange, white, HV clear and grey for simulated translucency. The photo shown is at the 1 week provisional reassessment appointment.
