Blocking out dark, stained dentin bases are always a challenge. The goal is to neutralize and lift value whilst leaving adequate restorative space for occlusal packable composite. Typically a white tint or super white flowable like Herculite Ultra XL2 works well, ensuring to place it in microlayers to ensure maximal curing and limiting volumetric shrinkage in these often deep restorations. Keep the tinted layer cavosurface minus 2mm to allow for your capping composite.
