CHALLENGE // Old implant PFM screw-retained abutment/crown units with metal extending right up to the cavosurface margin are especially difficult to block out to restore esthetically. Here we used a 5:3 ratio of orange:white to opaque out the metal after a multi-substrate adhesive protocol before using O3 Amaris and Final Touch Brown to finish the result. The access is still visible but “much better” than pre-operatively.
Reason for treatment: loose implant crown with undamaged prosthetic screw. Nobel Active.
