An old crown was removed and planned for replacement on this lovely 82 year old female due to recurrent caries on the radicular surface. The rubber dam was affixed and a floss ligature dragged circumferentially focusing on D axial wall exposure with PTFE. The core was replaced using a combination of Ever-X Flow and Clearfil Majesty Esthetic flowable in a microlayered base. Ever-X Flow was chosen due to its (2.88MPa.m*0.5) fracture toughness which is greater than native dentin at 2.51MPa.m*0.5.
