It is a common problem when we brush too hard and scrub away our enamel, leaving dentin exposed, which not only is sensitive, but wears six times faster than enamel and dissolves at pH 6.5 instead of 5.5. This makes these areas 10x more susceptible to erosive damage.

This was a lost restoration on 44B, with a clear shade of A3.5-A4. GC Essentia Universal (U) is a 50:50 blend of A2:A3, which is what we used for this case (both Lo-Flo and Hi-Flo). It astounds me how this material still manages to look decent with a pretty mighty chameleon effect in a tooth where traditionally we would have selected at least an A3.5 to match the chroma.

Have a great night. Off to talk to dog-owners in the park. What I do pretty much every night,

Clarrie
